On Sunday 18 June 2023 Preston Market will host Colours of Eid, a one-day festival of specialty food offerings, live entertainment and fun activities taking over the market from 10am – 3pm in celebration of the Islamic Eid holiday.

Created in collaboration with social equity organisation Celebrating and Conserving Cultures, the multicultural hub of Melbourne’s north will transform into a vibrant, all-ages party showcasing performances from the authentic middle eastern and Mediterranean band, Zourouna, and multidisciplinary storytellers Bukjeh.

Eventgoers can expect a raft of delectable food pop-ups, including a Pakistani tea stall, street food from Hookah Paani, and a halal meat food truck, with more to be confirmed closer to the day. A Henna tattoo artist will also join the festivities to share the traditional intricate practice of body art, plus there will be plenty of interactive activities to keep the little ones busy.
